Best Psa Ak - USA –-()- Palmetto State Armory has long been known for producing affordable firearms. I once heard a podcast where one of the owners said that they do everything they can to lower the price of their products so that anyone who wants to exercise their second amendment rights can do so. He also said that the more guns get into the hands of law-abiding citizens, the harder it will be for the government to take away our Second Amendment rights. I felt it was a strong message that I could get behind. They also build all their guns and parts in the USA, which is very important. The Palmetto State has greatly expanded its offerings over the past few years, which brings us to the AK-V weapon we're currently discussing.

The Palmetto State AK-V rifle is basically a 9mm AK that runs on a direct-fire operating system instead of the traditional long-stroke piston system found in AKs. It is also based on the free Russian Vityaz; 9mm submachine gun used by Russian special forces. I love automatic weapons and I love AKs, so putting the two together is an instant winner in my book.

I've long been a fan of pistol-caliber carbines, and they continue to grow in popularity, and it's easy to see why. They play many roles; they make a great toy because they are so much fun to shoot without breaking the bank. They can also make a great home defense weapon because they are easier to handle than a handgun. Pistol-caliber carbines also make excellent truck or "house" guns because they are usually very compact. The AK-V performs all of these roles very well, making it not only fun to shoot, but also a practical weapon for many applications.

Palmetto State Armory built a very well made 9mm AK. You get a forged front trunnion and bolt frame, a 10.5-inch nitrided barrel; This means the barrel will last you longer, and there are Picatinny rails on top of the dust guard for easy optic mounting. This model has nutmeg wood furniture, but the Palmetto State has it in several different furniture configurations. It's also worth noting that this requires AK furniture, so you can swap it out for whatever you want. The safety handle has been extended to make it easier to use, and the rowing magazine release is a very welcome upgrade. The trigger is great for an AK style trigger. Weighs just over 3 pounds, but it has an unpredictability on the wall and breaks like most AKs. This is a great AK trigger, but this AR-like trigger can take some getting used to.

Another improvement over the traditional AK platform incorporated into the PSA AK-V is the bolt. For those who don't know, AKs are not open fired in the last round and therefore do not have a bolt. Since the AK-V used Scorpion magazines that kept the last bolt open, they added this feature to the gun. The AK-V stays open on the last round and you can release the bolt by pressing a small key.

Now, I consider myself a bit of a purist, and this feature put me a bit ahead; but the more i shot it, the more it grew on me. Anyone who was stuck like me loved it from the start. I mean, unless you're a fan, it doesn't interfere with normal AK control at all. The output of the shutter is small and does not interfere; almost imperceptible. After spending some time with it, I have to admit that it's a huge improvement and I'm happy with the PSA, even though I'm trying to hold back my feelings that the "rifle just isn't working." contained it. AK-V Shooting Stores in the Palmetto State

You can't talk about the Palmetto State Armory AK-V without talking about magazines. First, it's relatively cheap and runs on inexpensive CZ Scorpion magazines. Not only did PSA stop there, they also created their own Scorpion magazines, which actually have some great features over the CZ magazines. Palmetto State magazines have metal feed jaws instead of the original Czech plastic ones. That plastic mouthpiece was a bit of a problem for some people, so PSA fixed that. I mean, CZ has a new and updated scorpion magazine, but I haven't played with any of them yet. PSA magnets are very affordable and hold 35 rounds. In addition, PSA sells an extension for the magazine, bringing it to 50. Gotta love that freedom! If you like the look of the drums and who doesn't, there is also a 50 round drum. We tested the scorpion magazines in the AK-V and the AK-V in the scorpion and everything worked as it should. If you need magazines for your Scorpion, these are perfect and won't break the bank. Likewise, if you have a collection of Scorpion mags, you're good to go if you decide to add an AK-V to your collection.

Thumbs Up To Psa For A Great Cs Experience.

We have to talk about this bracket from SBtactical because it's so cool and Alphabet Boys will soon be trying to confiscate the 1 million or so brackets in American hands. I'm sure it will be great. PSA AKV brackets are designed to mimic the triangle joint you see on many AKs. The top bar is very stiff, while the bottom and back are softer rubber, and of course, like any bar, the back opens. You can slide your arm through it, allowing you to shoot with one hand. The stock also folds to one side, shortening the gun for storage, again mimicking a real stock. The stock is excellent and I recommend getting it for use on an AK pistol or any pistol equipped with a rear Picatinny rail.

I know Palmetto State Armory has had a hard time keeping them in stock and keeping up with demand, but it's easy to see why.

This pistol gives you everything you want from a 9mm AK chambered. In addition, it is cheaper than competitors. I'm not going to say how much cheaper because they fluctuate quite a bit in price and as I mentioned demand outstrips supply. However, I'm sure the PSA will keep it as low as possible to get guns into people's hands. Another important factor in cost of ownership is magazines. AK-V magazines are cheap, work great, and are cross-platform compatible. This makes the cost of ownership of this gun much lower than the competition, despite being very close to the retail price of the actual gun.

Everyone who has shot the PSA AK-V has loved it and there is nothing not to love. PSA bet on AK-V; it's fun to shoot, very accurate, has great ergonomics, and is relatively inexpensive. It's great to see PSA expanding its offerings with quality products like the AK-V, and I can say that no matter what you want to do with it, no matter how hard you want to drive it, the Palmetto State AK-V is a winner. didn't let you down.
